Amit is a 25 year-old professional, entrepreneur, social worker, youth activist and student. He founded Mitti Ke Rang in 2013 to address gender equality and widows empowerment.
Born to a middle-class family, Amit lost his father when he was 3 years old, forcing his grandfather to open a tailoring shop managed by his mother. As he grew older, he saw the challenges widow's and their children experience, so he started Mitti Ke Rang to provide them resource and support.
His aim is that one day, all women enjoy equal rights - that they may stay out late at night, wear whatever they want and without worrying about being harassed, be free to live, and earn as much as men do.
Amit is a World Economic Forum Global Shaper, a Global Youth Ambassador at Theirworld, and Founder of Social Network Startup - Connecting 196 Countries. This is a forum that seeks to connect young change-makers in 196 countries to jointly put their hands together to bring ideas and share best practices which will foster development in their communities.
