Education and only a strong education can eliminate the negative effects of ignorance and violence resulted from the devastating wars around the world specially in the Middle East and in Syria in particular.

As a member in the UN Secretary General’s Global Education First Initiative (Youth Advocacy Group), I was honored to participate in different international forums to discuss and suggest ideas to support the SDG goals and the global citizenship education strategies.

I was involved in a local initiative for helping young Syrian youth and adolescents who have witnessed years of brutal conflict and many have experienced unthinkable violence, overburdened infrastructure, overcrowded schools, and community tensions. We worked with both private sectors and multilateral institutions to look beyond immediate humanitarian priorities and consider the medium and longer term needs of children and youth impacted by the crisis.

Finally, a Scout leader for more than six years for empowering youth in order to improve their role in the society and transform their consciousness through their beliefs, values, and attitudes.
